Due to the economic repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic in Canada and the United States, Matériaux Blanchet has decided to pause its sawmill operations in Amos and Saint-Pamphile as of April 11, 2020. The company will announce its return to normal operations once the situation has stabilized.
Matériaux Blanchet will continue its planing and shipping operations.
Active customers
Matériaux Blanchet would like to emphasize that its customers will not be affected by this decision. Orders will continue to be fulfilled at all times. To that end, the sales department will remain open as usual. Customers who have questions about the situation are encouraged to contact their sales representatives.
Temporary layoffs
Unfortunately, given the current situation, the company needs to temporarily lay off some of its employees. Matériaux Blanchet’s employees are very important to it, and it has stated that they will be kept up to date as the situation evolves.
“Despite my best efforts, this is a step I need to take today. I would like to acknowledge all of our employees’ outstanding work since the crisis began. We will be there for them, even in these difficult times,” stated Jean-Paul Carrier, president of Matériaux Blanchet.
